Skleryks
Skleryks are humanoid rockmen. They have a thin physique. Their skin is very hard and has stone hard patches that line the jaw and are interspersed around the body and can be any color of the rainbow. Their hair color is either a darker or lighter tone of their skin. Their eyes are solid blue, brown or purple. Skleryks dress in long flowing clothes that represent their class and rank.
Each Skleryk is born into their families class. As they excel or falter in school, Skleryk rise or fall in rank. The higher the academic success, the higher the rank they receive. Every 5 years a Skleryk can choose to take a test and an evaluation try and move up in rank. Sometimes those of high rank are challenged to prove one is worthy of the rank he/she holds. What usually determines rank is family position (those born into a high ranked family usually remain rated high unless they have failed consistently). Intellectual merits (The score on the test often has a huge impact on those who are born into a low class), Work or military record (The achievements made at work or on the battlefield often can effect their rank). Skleryks are always trying to excel or move up in rank as certain privileges become available with each higher rank. Their rank determines the type of food they get eat, the jobs they are allowed to have, the language they are allowed to speak, the people they can associate with, the type of technology they have access to and their home environment.
The ranks go as follows: Solk (S rank), Lrosh (A rank), Chokven (B rank), Ghon (C rank), Jesht (D rank), Hoshven (E rank), Torh (F rank), Deckven (G rank), Lewjen (H rank), Kersho (I Rank) and Zeddeck (J rank). The top ranks start from A to J. The Highest Rank is S. The Solk are the rulers and often help determine the ranks of other Skleryks. Lrosh have the biggest land, their choice in jobs. They can use any technology. They are treated with respect from anyone. Class A citizens are innocent if a dispute comes up between a lower class citizen, unless a witness that is class A or Class S can prove he is guilty. Class J citizens are the lowest class. They usually receive the worst jobs, are mistreated by everyone and are shunned outcasts. Zeddecks are seen as the most expendable useless dredges of society.
Government: Each country revolves around class rule. Those that are S class are often elected leaders of their country. Since rank is a very important part of their society, punishment for breaking the law is a drop in rank. The worse the crime the lower the person's rank becomes. If a Zeddeck commits a crime he is usually punished by death since their rank is considered worthless to society. Rank is very important in society. The biggest crime in Anyone caught impersonating a higher rank is punished by death.
