Name: Shin
Race: Human?
Occuation: Mech pilot
First Appearance: Issue 44
Age: 9
Height: 4'6"
Birthdate: May 5
Favorite Color: White, like his walls
Favorite Food: Toast
Hobbies: foaming at the mouth, biting the neighbors, chasing the cat
Abilities: ???
Personality: Certifiable. Shin has brief flickers of sanity, followed by long bouts of insanity.
General Info: Shin was originally a test subject for the Gaia project. He was doing fine there. He was the perfect sample of a human being. He was super fast, super agile, extremely intelligent and was 19. Unfortunately his genetic code broke and he ended up regressing to a 9 year old who was pretty much insane. Recently adopted by Lola and working as the Mech pilot. As to whether he will grow up to be normal again remains to be seen.

Artis Comments: Shin was supposed to be a one-shot. I was being spotlighted by Keenime and I decided to do something different and have a week long Mech episode. IF you have ever watched any MEch Anime, you would know that anyone who pilots one has to be underage and with some severe issues. I decided to take it to the extreme and make the pilot a young, totally insane, basically an animal pilot. The original name was going to Saeki and then I forgot what his name was supposed to be and came up with the name Shin...which I like much better.
The entire idea of Shin came to me in the bathtub. I designed his outfit to be a modified straightjacket and left most of his shackles in place. After a few days of him, I decided to keep Shin as crew. He kinda grew on me.
Shin is I think the sadest character of the bunch and yet the happiest. He is a mere shadow of what he used to be and I think he still would be sad if he wasn't "adopted" by Lola. Shin may or may not grow with the crew, but he reacts well with them, because they treat him like a person and don't lock him away. He is happy, because he is too insane to know how badly off he is.

The management would just like to remind you that Space Opera, the world and its contents are the copyright of Marie Del Rio and to some degree, Lois Spangler. If you try to rip us off, you will be formally declared a soggy wussmeister and will no longer be attractive to those you so desperately want to date.
